Thanks to Jim Reed for the following report and notice of next meeting’s activities (Dec 17). If you are in the vicinity – maybe Sheffield, Derby, Nottingham etc, this is a great location.
Our meet on the 26th November, we looked at books by Jackie Higgins her ‘Why It Does Not Have To Be In Focus’ and in it these words, “A fixed definition of the term “photography” has become impossible.” And also a book of Edward Weston’s photographs and Fay Godwin’s “Land”. Two of us brought homemade photobooks one a book of reflections made mostly in Stamford and the other some work in progress.
I will be doing a little demo of how to make books like this one using the Japanese 4 hole stab binding technique, I was surprised at the strength of it.
